Sourdough Bread

Our sourdough bread is famous for its slightly sour flavor, soft pillowy center and thick, chewy crust. Sourdough bread is a slow-fermented bread that is naturally leavened with a sourdough starter. Instead of using commercial yeast, a live fermented culture, otherwise known as a  sourdough starter, is used to make the bread rise. 

The sourdough starter works within the dough to break down the gluten and creates a bread that is more easily digested by the body.  Not only do you get a healthier bread, it tastes better than anything you could buy at the store!

Our sourdough is baked fresh in small batches and only has four ingredients: Sourdough Starter (yeast, flour, and water) organic non-enriched red wheat flour, water, and Pink Himalayan salt.

*These orders are for pick up at Moss & Embers in Burns, TN only. All orders must be placed by Wednesday at 11:59 pm for pick up the following Saturday.*
